Mesotherapy is a procedure within the field of aesthetic cosmetology that involves the intradermal administration of active substances via injections (needle and microneedle methods) or using a needle-free technique. The effects of the treatment include improved skin quality, delayed aging processes, and enhancement of natural beauty. Aim. The aim of this paper is to assess the impact of needle, microneedle and needle-free mesotherapy on the skin, identify any adverse effects, and determine the reasons that motivate patients to undergo the procedure. Material and method. The questionnaire study was conducted in the group of 70 patients, who underwent a mesotherapy. Respondents were aged from 22 to 61 years of age. The questionnaire included 25 questions. Results. Most of the respondents observed a significant improvement in the skin condition after mesotherapy. The greatest improvement in skin appearance was reported after 3-4 treatments. Adverse effects such as redness or swelling were mild and temporary. Conclusions. The most commonly used method was needle mesotherapy, and the most frequently treated areas were the face, neck, and neckline. Regardless of the technique used (needle, microneedle, or needle-free), mesotherapy has a significant revitalizing effect on the skin, contributing to improved hydration, firmness, and elasticity. Side effects are temporary and do not pose a significant issue for patients. Key words: mesotherapy, skin, needle technique, needle-free technique, microneedle technique |
