Supplements as supporting treatment of acne (Acne vulgaris)Natalia Tyczyńska Szkoła Doktorska, Śląski Uniwersytet Medyczny w Katowicach, Polska Summary Acne is a chronic, inflammatory dermatosis. It can be influenced by increased sebum production, excessive amounts of Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) colonizing the skin´s surface, and the occurrence of inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions. The aim of this article was to analyze substances available as dietary supplements, the regular use of which can alleviate or even halt the condition. For each substance, attention was focused on the process it inhibits, which contributes to the exacerbation or development of acne. The study cites numerous scientific studies conducted using individual supplements to support their effectiveness.
