Hypothyroidism is an increasingly common condition that particularly affects women, and its symptoms have a significant impact on the quality of life, including the condition of the skin. Typical skin problems associated with this condition include dryness, roughness, and problems with skin appendages. People affected by hypothyroidism often reach for various preparations or treatments to improve the appearance of their skin, which affects their well-being and overall quality of life. Aim. The aim of the study was to assess the knowledge of women aged 20-50 on the impact of hypothyroidism on skin defects. Material and method. The study was conducted on a group of 53 people. The study group included women aged 20-50. The study was conducted using an online survey questionnaire consisting of 36 closed questions. Results. The results of the study show that women are aware of the impact of hypothyroidism on the appearance of the skin, which indicates a growing awareness of this disease. Skin changes associated with hypothyroidism also have a significant impact on well-being, suggesting that skin problems can affect mental and emotional health. Conclusions. A significant proportion of respondents are aware of the impact of hypothyroidism on the condition of the skin, but the presence of a group who do not see this connection indicates the need for further education. The study participants have different assessments of the impact of the disease on the appearance of the skin - for some the changes are significant, for others they are unnoticeable, which may be due to a milder course of the disease or its absence.
