Macro- and microelements in cosmetics

Summary
In the paper macro- and microelements are described taking as examples carbon and copper, respectively, and the results of inquiry performed for women using the cosmetics which contain macro-and microelements for skin care are analyzed.
Materials and methods. The inquiry consisting of ten questions of one or multiple choice, concerning properties of cosmetics containing micro- and macroelements was made. The aim of the inquiry performed for three groups of women is the analysis of answers which concern cosmetics containing micro- and macroelements. Three groups of women were: young women-students 20-25 years old; pregnant women, and the middle-aged women 35-45 years old. The number of each group of respondents was 20.
The inquiry was performed during one month (May 2010). The text of inquiry was accessible in beauty parlors, among acquainted students and in Internet.
Results and their discussion. The inquiry results show that cosmetics are the most often used by middle-aged women and then by pregnant women. Among cosmetics containing micro- and macroelements, the most often employed are creams, then balms and suncosmetics. The answers of respondents reveal that the pregnant women, next the middle -aged women and then students choose their cosmetics with help of a cosmetician´s advice.
Conclusions. The performed studies show that the cosmetics containing micro- and macroelements, present in fruit and vegetables are the most employed by pregnant women and by students. The result is probably due to the fact that the method is very safe, the preparations made from fruit or vegetables do not contain chemical or artificial preservatives, and this property is very important, especially for pregnant women.
