Beauty services provided in rural and urban municipalities

Introduction. In Poland, the cosmetics market, is rapidly developing. There are many beauty salons, which want to fit in with the structure of demand, they offer customers a variety of beauty treatments. Cabinet location is an important role in making decisions about the use of the service. It should be located close to the place of customer´s residence.
Aim. The aim of the study was to recognize the specificity of cosmetology services implemented in rural areas and urban areas.
Material and methods. In the process of research the authors used a questionnaire survey, which was conducted among residents of rural and urban areas of the Pomeranian Province. For the analysis included 142 questionnaires.
Results. Respondents living in an urban area usually dedicating monthly amount in the range from 51 to 150 PLN for beauty services. Villagers amount from 251 to 350 PLN. The majority of respondents used the cosmetic services in their city, but some people decided on the cabinets located in other towns. All respondents most often chose to facial treatments. Both groups of respondents, usually raisers knowledge of cosmetic services by Internet.
Conclusions. Cabinet location and cosmetologist qualifications are the most important factors when choosing a particular cabinet. Residents of the municipality and rural communities believe that prices treatments are too high and are still missing cabinets adapted to customer needs. It is important to create new beauty salons, corresponding to the currently reported demand.
