Selected treatments in the field of cosmetology and aesthetic medicine in patients with psoriasis

Summary
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease, with characteristic skin changes. It has a complex pathophysiology, where a key role plays genetic and environmental factors combined with immunological changes in organism. Clinically, the disease is characterized by the presence of pink-red lesions, which are covered with a silvery scales. Psoriasis plaques appearing on the skin are a serious aesthetic problem, that´s why it is so important for these patients to choose the most effective treatment method and, in addition, therapy to support the treatment of psoriatic lesions in beauty parlors or aesthetic medicine cabinets. Nowadays available therapies for psoriasis allow to alleviate the symptoms of the disease and improve the appearance of the skin in areas affected by dermatose. This paper focuses on selected methods in the field of cosmetology and aesthetic medicine, which aim is to improve the quality of life of patients with psoriasis.
