Relationship between lifestyle and the occurrence of acne vulgaris in women

Summary
Introduction. Previous research on the impact of lifestyle on the occurrence of acne vulgaris were of a review nature. There are no reports regarding the impact of lifestyle on the disease. It is advisable to analyze many aspects of life style on the occurrence of acne, because through civilization progress and change of lifestyle, especially through the change of eating habits and the modification of food, the disease is more and more common in society.
Aim. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between lifestyle and the occurrence of acne vulgaris in women.
Material and method. The study involved 113 women aged 18 to 31 years. An original questionnaire was used as a research tool. The research was carried out from March 2018 to June 2018 among patients of Dermatological Clinics in the cities of Przeworsk and Jarosław.
Results. Statistical analysis indicated the occurrence of the disease is influenced by frequent consumption: products with high GI, sweets and unfermented dairy products, as well as too low intake of saturated fatty acids. In addition indicated that exacerbation of acne vulgaris is influenced by high intake: products with high GI, sweets and unfermented dairy products, as well as low intake of fermented dairy products and vitamin D.
Conclusions. Lifestyle, especially diet, affects the occurrence and exacerbation of acne symptoms.
