Carboxytherapy is a procedure involving subcutaneous or intradermal administration of carbon dioxide. The aim of this study was to assess subjectively the effectiveness of carboxytherapy in cellulite and stretch marks reduction, as well as the evaluation of the knowledge of the studied women about this procedure. Material and methods. The study involved 60 women who underwent a series of carboxytherapy treatments due to cellulite or stretch marks. The research tool was an original questionnaire containing questions about the type and location of the defects, and about the respondents´ satisfaction with results of this treatment. Results. The subjective evaluation of the effects of the procedure according to 55% of respondents was rather positive, and according to 20% the effect was definitely visible. No effect was reported by 17% respondents and a slightly noticeable result by 8%. Conclusions. A series of carboxytherapy treatments used to treat stretch marks and cellulite gives satisfying subjective results. Key words: carboxytherapy, cellulite, stretch marks |
