The characteristics of probiotic strains and the mechanism of their action in the course of bacterial skin disease are presented. The properties of probiotics and the direct impact of these bacteria on the condition of the skin are discussed. The characteristics of the skin microbiome, examples of beneficial microorganisms that live in it and factors that affect the condition of the microbiome are presented. The functions that the microbiome performs in relation to the skin and how it deals with protecting it against various types of bacteria or other pathogenic factors are described. The effectiveness of the use of cosmetics with probiotic bacteria in terms of improving the condition of the skin and three treatments with their participation, performed in beauty salons, were described.
