Each year, raw materials are carefully and extensively assessed and may eventually be classified as toxic and consequently restricted for use in the European Union. In this aspect, titanium dioxide (TiO2) is the cosmetic raw material that we have probably heard the most about in recent years. The turmoil regarding ratings and restrictions each time shakes the world of cosmetics manufacturers and leaves uncertainty about the next steps. The manuscript is a kind of summary of the unstable situation of titanium dioxide on the cosmetics market. Despite the fact that at the moment we can be calm about the use of titanium white in products that do not cause exposure to this substance by inhalation, the cosmetics producers are struggling with the bad reputation of titanium dioxide.
