Effect of collagen supplementation on skin, hair and nails condition

Summary
Dynamic development of the cosmetics industry over the years as a result of continuous research on skin and aging processes. With age, the ability to regenerate tissues decreases, which is influenced by a number of external factors. New ingredients that have a beneficial effect on its condition are gaining popularity. One of the most popular ingredients is collagen, also known as the protein of youth. Collagen causes effects on the human body, especially the skin. Occupying a large surface area, it is the basic building protein and is responsible for its strength and elasticity. Due to the interest in the area of supplementation over recent years, supplements containing collagen in the form of peptides have appeared on the market. The paper presents reports on the delivery of the above-mentioned protein from the inside. Types of collagen and its types along with their origin are described. The availability of collagen in the diet, as well as the necessary ingredients for its synthesis in the body, was analyzed. Types of collagen and its types along with their origin are described. The effects of deficiency of the mentioned protein and available forms of supplementation are presented. Attention was also focused on research and scientific reports on collagen supplementation. Its effectiveness has been confirmed and the benefits of its use have been described, such as: wrinkle reduction and anti-aging skin protection.
