A huge number of people have tattoos that are pernamental and remain visible on our skin for the rest of our lives. Sometimes they no longer meet our expectations and laser removal comes to the rescue. Nowadays, we have a very large selection of lasers on the market, which, depending on the wavelength, act on the different pigment colours. Aim. The aim of this study was to analyse cosmetologists´ opinions on the effectiveness of lasers in tattoo removal. Material and methods. The study was conducted from March 31, 2023 to May 15, 2023 and consisted of an anonymous online survey on the topic of the effectiveness of lasers in tattoo removal. 200 cosmetologists participated in the study. Results. The majority of respondents were cosmetologists with a master´s degree in cosmetology (61.5%) and (38.5%) had completed a bachelor´s degree in cosmetology. As many as (98%) of the respondents believe that laser tattoo removal is an effective method. Respondents indicated overwhelmingly (92.5%) that tattoo removal by laser can be 80-99% removed from the skin. Conclusions. The vast majority of cosmetologists surveyed believe that a tattoo can be removed by laser. The number of treatment series is selected individually for the client. There are increasingly better lasers available on the market. The most effective laser for tattoo removal according to those surveyed is the Q-switched Nd:Yag picosecond laser and the Q-switched alexandrite laser. According to the cosmetologists surveyed, it is much easier to remove tattoos from fair skin. The vast majority of clients are satisfied with the result of laser tattoo removal.
