Hyperpigmentation, also referred to as skin discoloration, encompasses conditions such as freckles, age-related lentigines, melasma, pigmentation resulting from phototoxicorphotoallergicreactions, post-acnescarring, and drug-induced hyperpigmentation. It is a common aesthetic concern that increasing lyaffects womena round the world. Aim. The aim of the study was to assess the opinions of women aged 18 to 60 on the effects of azelaic acid on skin hyperpigmentation. Materials and methods. The study was conducted among 46 women aged 18 to 60. The research was carried out using an online questionnaire consisting of 26 questions. Results. The study results show that women often choose azelaic acid for the treatment of hyperpigmentation. Its use brings visible effects in the form of brighter, more even-toned skin, with improvements appearing after just a few weeks, confirming the substance´s effectiveness and fast-acting properties. Conclusions. Azelaic acid demonstrates high efficacy in skincare - regular use leads to skin brightening, a more even complexion, and a reduction in the visibility of pigmentation. It is a product frequently chosen by women, reflecting its popularity and the trust placed in its effects.
