Summary
Oncological treatment, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and hormone therapy, despite its undeniable effectiveness in combating cancer, is often associated with a range of side effects, among which adverse skin changes play a significant role.
The most common dermatological manifestations observed during anticancer therapies include dryness, erythema, desquamation, discoloration, hypersensitivity, as well as inflammatory conditions and secondary infections. Properly selected skin care plays a key role in alleviating these side effects. Professional care provided in a cosmetic clinic by a qualified specialist enables the use of targeted procedures supporting skin regeneration and protection. Home care primarily involves all activities aimed at maintaining proper skin condition, including the regular application of protective and moisturizing preparations. An adequately balanced diet is also of crucial importance. The consumption of products rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, and selenium promotes skin regeneration, strengthens the immune system, and improves the overall condition of the patient. A holistic approach to the care of oncology patients, encompassing professional treatments, home-based care, and appropriate nutritional support, fosters skin repair processes and enhances the psychophysical well-being of affected individuals.
