There are many types of stem cells, which differ in proliferability and dimension of differentiation. In respect of differentiation abilities, stem cells may be divided into four types: totipotent, pluripotent, multipotent and unipotent. On the other hand in respect of stem cells´ origin, embryonic stem cells, stem cells of amniotic fluid and somatic stem cells may be distinguished.
