There are many types of stem cells, which differ in proliferability and dimension of differentiation. In respect of differentiation abilities, stem cells may be divided into four types: totipotent, pluripotent, multipotent and unipotent. On the other hand in respect of stem cells´ origin, embryonic stem cells, stem cells of amniotic fluid and somatic stem cells may be distinguished. This article presents the current scope of knowledge on application of stem cells in cosmetics in order to outline the progress going on in this domain.
