The colouring process was carried out using a dyeing paste for application to the hair. The dyeing paste contained onion powder before and after enzymatic treatment. The resulting dark-yellow colour was tested for resistance to washing with shampoo as well as resistance to the light. It was found that onion skins (yellow type) have a good ability to dye hair and wool and the level of colour fastness is corresponding to semi-permanent hair dyes.
