It is manifesting itself with characteristic folding the skin, looking like the orange peel. These changes are brought about with irregularities in the range of the subcutaneous layer, located on hips, thighs, knees, belly, buttocks, more rarely on forearms and the neck. We can enumerate a number of factors contributing to its development such as: microcirculation malfunctions, improper hormonal management, sex-specific dimorphic skin architecture and genes. These lead to changes in the uppermost layer of subcutaneous fat cells. Certain factors such as: improper dieting practices, smoking, low physical activity and stress, understood as environmental factors, have a significant influence on the cellulite pathophysiology and can contribute to its increased evolution. Getting to know their accurate influence on the development of this disease can turn out to be very helpful in composing effective anti-cellulite therapies.
