Summary
Honey is sweet, viscid fluid produced by bees from the nectar collected from flowers, and stored in nests or hives as food. Honey is also produced by bumblebees, stingless bees, and other hymenopteran insects such as honey wasps, though the quantity is generally lower and they have slightly different properties compared to honey from the genus Apis. Do the ingredients of honey have really an impact on health?
Honey has a strong antioxidant, antiseptic, local anesthetic and anti-inflammatory effect. Other benefits include good skin hydration. The research suggests that honey has a strong impact on people´s health and should be used in prevention of diseases development. Honey as a natural substance has a positive effect on human skin.
