Vegetarianism is a conscious resignation from eating meat and animal products. This diet prevents or significantly reduces the risk of many diseases and also affects the condition and function of the skin. However, one should remember about the addition of selected vitamins and minerals, in which the vegetarian diet is poor. Aim. The aim of the work is to assess the impact of vegetarian diet on the appearance and functions of the skin, and knowledge of people who are on a vegetarian diet about supplementation and health control through regular laboratory tests. Material and method. The survey was conducted in the form of a questionnaire in the group of 100 people who are vegetarian. Among them, 95 were female and 5 were male. Results. Most of the respondents noticed the positive effect of a vegetarian diet on the appearance and functions of the skin. The subjects are aware of the need to supplement parts of ingredients, but only half of them control their health through laboratory tests. Conclusions. Properly used vegetarian diet, including the need for supplementation, can have a positive effect on the appearance of the skin. People deciding on a vegetarian diet should regularly perform laboratory tests, especially for women planning and being pregnant and breastfeeding women.
