Cheek abscess after upper lip piercing - case report

Summary
Body piercing, which is the form of puncturing the tissues and creating opening, where jewelry may be worn, is more and more popular especially among young people. The most common parts of body, which is pierced are ear, lips, eyebrow, navel, nose, tongue, nipples and genitals. Complications after body piercing procedures are quite common and include mostly bleeding and local infections. The aim of the study was to present a case of the patient with lip piercing who refferred to the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic for the treatment of cheek and lip abscess.
