Main chemical elements (macroelements) in cosmetological applicationsMaciej Rutkowski, Martyna Paś Wyższa Szkoła Kosmetyki i Nauk o Zdrowiu w Łodzi Summary Substances used in cosmetics include i.a. various chemical elements, therein the biologically main for humans - the so-called macronutrients: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, magnesium. They are employed in the form of compounds or ionic preparations, some even as free. In the paper are described the occurrence of these elements in the body and their local connections, performed systemic functions, as well as sources for man. The type of cosmetological applications of macroelements and preparations containing them are discussed, also treatments are carried out in cosmetology with the use of part of the above elements.
