Effectiveness of botulin toxin in the correction of mimic wrinkles

Summary
Introduction. Skin is the largest organ in the human body, and the signs of aging as a natural and unavoidable biological process are clearly visible on it. Aesthetic medicine is gaining more and more importance. Botulinum toxin injection for treatment of facial wrinkles is the most frequently performed cosmetic procedure in the United States.
Aim. The aim of the study is to determine the effectiveness of botulinum toxin in the correction of mimic wrinkles and to analyze the frequency of side effects after the procedure.
Material and methods. An anonymous online self-completion questionnaire was generated using Google Forms. The link to the survey was shared on social media. The prepared questionnaire contained 33 questions.
Results. 200 people (197 women and 3 men) took part in the survey. More than half of the respondents (56.5%) report the effect of radiation after the treatment. The most common symptoms include headache, darts in the stay and injection pain. Most of patients (88.5%) were satisfied with the keyboards performed in the procedure
Conclusions. The use of botulinum toxin in the correction of mimic wrinkles offers good treatment results. The botulinum toxin injection procedure does not cause permanent side effects, and the side effects reported by patients are temporary, usually mild symptoms.
