Colorimetry - how to "precisely" define the colors of cosmetics?Dominika Świątczak 1,2/, Magdalena Małecka 1/ 1/ Katedra Chemii Fizycznej, Wydział Chemii, Uniwersytet Łódzki 2/ Delia Cosmetics, Delia Cosmetics Sp. z o.o., Konstantynów Łódzki Summary The appearance of the product has a decisive influence on purchasing decisions, which is why the first impression of the product on the shelf is so important. In addition to the aesthetics of the packaging and the coherence of the design, colors are also important. They identify a product and characterize its quality, for example in terms of food, paints, surface finishes or make-up cosmetics. The color repeatability of products requires precise formulation and detailed measurements - including control measurements, at the stage of receiving the delivery of raw materials and at the production stage. Since color perception is subjective, special color measuring instruments are used to control the quality of finished cosmetics, which ensure repeatable results, not limited by human perception. For this purpose, colorimeters are used, among others. Key words: colorimetry, color cosmetics, make up cosmetics, cosmetic pigments |
