Marek Staszewski

Zakład Syntezy i Technologii Środków Leczniczych Katedry Chemii Medycznej Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Łodzi

Summary
Introduction. Polyhydroxyacids constitute a new generation of hydroxyacids, widely used in pharmacy. More and more often they are also used in many cosmetic forms. In previous years, at Zakład Syntezy i Technologii Środków Leczniczych the pharmaceutical availability of selected derivatives of lactobionic acid were obtained and tested. The article presented below launches a cycle of studies on the salts of gluconic acid and their use in cosmetics.
Aim. This study was aimed at obtaining the salts of gluconic acid, containing calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium and sodium, which could be used in cosmetic forms.
Methods. The salts mentioned below were obtained using glucono-δ-lactone and carbonates of appropriate elements.
Results. Obtained in the study were calcium, magnesium, zinc, potassium and sodium derivatives in form of white crystalline solid bodies. Their structure was confirmed by well-known analytical methods.

Key words: polyhydroxyacids, gluconic acid, metal salts
