The antifungal and antibacterial activity of copper was repeatedly confirmed. Basis of these properties, organic and inorganic copper combinations, found implementation in various antiseptic preparations, in cosmetic as well as plant protection chemicals. Aim. This article is aimed at evaluation of the antibacterial and the antifungal efficacy of copper in not researched gluconate and glubionate salts on microorganism in standard activation study method and their influence on microorganisms charakteristic for natural flora of vagina. Potential possibility of use above-mentioned copper compounds in preparations for personal hygiene was considered. Methods. Microorganisms sensitivity to the studied substances was determined by using macrodilution method in the Mueller Hinton broth. Results. As a result of the study there were indicated antibacterial and antifungal effects of examined copper salts. Concentration examined compounds, which should be used to obtain efficacious effect towards pathogen microorganisms was too high, to implement them in preparations for personal hygiene. Key words: copper gluconate, copper glubionate, antifungal effects, antibacterial effects, preparations for personal hygiene |
