Claims used in relation to cosmetic products

Summary
Product claims are widely used in cosmetics industry. They convey product characteristics or functions in the labelling, making available on the market and advertising of products. Claims are essential ways of differentiating between products, they help consumers choose a cosmetic, foster competition and promote innovation. In July 2013 the European Commission adopted a list of common criteria for the justification of claims used in relation to cosmetic products. In this work the main aspects of Commission Regulation (EU) No 655/2013 of 10 July 2013 were presented.
