EA has potential anti-inflammatory, antimutagenic, chemopreventive and antioxidative properties. Ellagic acid plays an essential role in prevention of systemic disease and presents therapeutic effects agaist various cancer types. Dietery and pharmacological interventions with ellagic acid may be treatment strategies in skin photoageing associated with UV exposure. Key words: ellagic acid, polyphenol, cancer, skin photoaging |
