Summary
Introduction. There are many ways of reducing body fat while increasing muscle mass, these include, inter alia, physical activity, along with diet, lifestyle, and also a novelty in recent years, namely electrostimulation.
Aim. The aim of the study was to test whether a series of nine treatments HV high-voltage currents will affect fat tissue and muscle, and whether changes to the size of the measured circuits.
Materials and methods. The material consisted of 21 women at the age of 24 years with a BMI of 21 and the mean body weight of 60.5 kg. For the evaluation of body composition method was used bioimpedance (BIA). Both before and after a series of treatments was measured height and weight and selected measurements were performed circuits body. In addition, the thickness of the dermal fold on the belly fat. For each subject performed a series of nine abdominal muscle electrostimulation treatments, which lasted three weeks. The total time was 20 min a single treatment - 10 min rectus and 10 min abdominal oblique muscles.
Results. It has been shown statistically significant change in the decrease in hip circumference and reduced skin-fold thickness fat on the stomach. None of the components of the body, and made a series of electrical stimulation currents, HV has not changed significantly.
Conclusions. A series of nine treatments abdominal muscle electrostimulation HV high-voltage currents is insufficient to achieve significant changes in the components of the body in women of normal weight.
