Influence of rhinoplasty procedure on self-esteem and self-confidence

Summary
Introduction. Currently, more attention is paid to the benefits of surgery in the field of plastic surgery. Rhinoplasty or the operation of the nose improves the physical aspects of the body associated with breathing and can favorably change the appearance of the face.
Aim. Determining the effect of rhinoplasty on self-esteem and self-confidence.
Material and methods. 114 patients were qualified for the clinical trial with post-traumatic nasal disorder from 18 to 66 years of age, including 39 women and 75 men. Patients completed the questionnaire before surgery and during the period of 12-18 months after surgery.
Results. There is a significant difference in the assessment of satisfaction with surgery depending on age - younger people were more likely to assess positively the results of the surgery.
Conclusions. Rhinoplasty has a positive effect on the quality of life in terms of self-esteem and self-confidence.
